Founding the Legacy of the Tractor Store
In 1983, a story of dedication and passion for agriculture took root with the inception of The Tractor Store. It was Jerry Schwartz who laid the foundation of our journey, drawing inspiration from his years of experience in the industry. Having worked at Walker Ford Tractor Co. from 1967 to the late 1970s, Jerry's expertise was further enriched during his tenure at PPL and Santiam Ford, and these years of learning and growth culminated in a decision that would change the landscape of "local" farm equipment sales, service & repairs.
Jerry's dream became a reality with the collaboration of long-time friends Russ Davis & Ken "Skip" Gano. They shared a vision for The Tractor Store, which reflected a commitment to quality tractor service & repair and a profound understanding of the needs of the farming community. In 1983, this triumvirate embarked on a journey to provide more than just servicing & repairing tractors; they became well-known for reliable & affordable tractor parts, service & repair.
Sole Ownership and Family Values
Jerry's dedication and hard work led to his sole ownership and operation of The Tractor Store in 1988. But recognizing the growing demands of the business, he knew he needed a strong ally. Turning to family, Jerry welcomed his son, Will, into the fold. Will's expertise in the shop breathed new life into the enterprise, marking a pivotal moment in the store's history.
Continuing the Legacy
Since then, Will Schwartz has been the driving force behind The Tractor Store. With a profound understanding of the equipment and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, he has seamlessly carried forward the values that the store was built upon. Will's deep connection to agriculture isn't confined to the store – he and his wife, Tracy, have nurtured a local cattle farm since 1990.
Family, Farming, and the Outdoors
Will and Tracy's love story, which began in 1985 in Veneta, Oregon, is interwoven with their commitment to the land. Their shared passion for farming and the outdoors led them to build a successful business and a life centered around their family.
